# Prepare your eBook — 1BZ Publishing / ebook.1bz.biz

A checklist for getting a book ready to publish. Fill in what applies, skip the
rest. **Only Part 1 is required.** A book that stops at Part 1 is complete and
publishable.

Pricing is the same whichever type your book turns out to be. The type
describes what your book can do, not how good it is or what it costs.

---

## Part 1 — Every book (required)

| Field | Yours | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Title | | As it should appear on the cover |
| Subtitle | | Optional |
| Author name | | The name that goes on the book |
| Publisher | | Optional. Leave blank to publish under your own name |
| Category | | One subject, e.g. history, business, fiction |
| Language | | The language the book is written in |
| ISBN | | Optional. We can publish without one |
| Price | | Leave blank for a free book |

**Manuscript file** — one of:

- `.pdf` — best if your layout matters (fixed pages, plates, design)
- `.epub` — best for reading (readers can highlight and take notes; text reflows)
- `.md` — plain Markdown, if you wrote it that way

Maximum upload: **20 MB** basic · **40 MB** pro · **100 MB** premium. The upload
is refused before anything is stored or charged if it is over your limit.

**Cover image** — portrait, roughly 2:3. If you have no cover we will set the
title in type, but a real cover sells better.

**Description** — optional. Leave it blank and we write one from your own text,
inventing nothing. Supply your own if you would rather control it.

**Free sample** — optional. Choose which sections anyone may read without
buying.

**Reader links** — optional, and editable at any time afterwards:

- WhatsApp group: `https://chat.whatsapp.com/…`
- Telegram: `https://t.me/…`
- Website: `https://…`

> That is a complete **Normal eBook**. Everything below is optional.

---

## Part 2 — If readers should be able to hire you (Business eBook)

*Available now: Ask the Author, consultation enquiries. In development:
proposals, quotations, agreements, appointments.*

| Field | Yours |
| --- | --- |
| What you offer | |
| Who it is for | |
| How a reader starts | |
| Who receives enquiries | |
| How fast you reply | |

**If you offer options,** give each one:

| Option | Includes | Price | Delivery time |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | | | |
| | | | |
| | | | |

> Note on acceptance: when a reader accepts an option, that is recorded as
> **interest and intent**, not a signature. A binding agreement is a separate,
> explicit step. We will not imply otherwise to your readers.

---

## Part 3 — If your book is hard and readers need help (Smart eBook)

*Available now: Ask the Book, Ask the Author, quizzes, notes and highlights,
author commentary. In development: explain, summarize, translate a passage.*

**Ask the Book** works from your manuscript automatically — nothing to prepare.
The assistant answers from your text and nothing else; it will not invent
material or wander off your subject.

**Quiz questions** — optional, one row each:

| Question | Type (choice / short answer) | Answer options | Correct |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | | | |

**Author commentary** — optional. Passages you want to explain further:

| Chapter / section | What you want to add |
| --- | --- |
| | |

**Reference material** — anything the assistant should know about your subject
beyond the book itself.

---

## Part 4 — If the book should do a job for the reader (Agent eBook)

*Not yet offered. Tell us what you want and we will design the first ones with
their authors.*

| Question | Yours |
| --- | --- |
| What task should the book perform? | |
| What does the reader supply? | |
| What should they get back? | |
| Does it need an outside service? Which? | |

---

## Part 5 — Before you upload

- [ ] The manuscript is final — the text you want readers to see
- [ ] No editorial notes, TODOs or placeholders left in the text or in captions
- [ ] Image captions read as captions, not as production notes
- [ ] Chapter numbers in the text match the chapter numbers in any diagrams
- [ ] The copyright page carries the right ISBN, if you have one
- [ ] The cover is the final artwork
- [ ] The file opens cleanly and is inside your size limit

That last list is not bureaucracy. Every item on it is a mistake that has
reached a finished book at least once.

---

## What happens after you upload

1. You submit the work. We store it and open a CopyGuard notice.
2. We generate a description from your text if you did not supply one.
3. You receive a Declaration to sign — recommended, not required.
4. You pay the fee, if one is due. Often it is zero within your plan's quota.
5. Proof of the claim is anchored on the blockchain.
6. The public notice runs for 30 days.
7. Your rights record is minted as an NFT, held in escrow for you.
8. The certificate is issued and the book goes on sale.
9. You set your payout wallet and watch the balance.

You keep your copyright throughout. The notice is dated, public, verifiable
evidence of your claim — it is not a government copyright registration, and the
certificate says so on its face.
