Design Themes
A theme is the look, not the layout. It sets the type, the colour, the chapter openings, the contents page and the callouts — and it is available today, on any book, for a flat 10 BZeUSD. How a page is arranged — a full-bleed scene, two panels, a deliberately quiet page — is a separate and upcoming thing. See the cinematic compositions on the home page. The two multiply: a cinematic edition is still set in one of the five themes below.
Every published edition can look different. Below is the same page — a real chapter, with its real commentary — rendered in each of five layout themes, so you can see the difference rather than read about it. Every theme also includes a real illustrated Table of Contents, pulled-quote callouts, and stat cards — not just walls of text.

Illuminated
Deep navy and gold, gilt-bordered commentary boxes
A cinematic, mythic register — suits science classics, epics, and grand-sweep nonfiction. The current default for published titles.

Scholar
Cream page, maroon rules, marginal critical apparatus
Austere and academic — the Penguin Classics / Norton Critical Edition look. Suits philosophy, essays, and serious nonfiction wanting gravitas.

Heritage
Warm parchment, ornamental frames, a real drop cap
A vintage first-edition-facsimile feel. Suits classic literature, poetry, and memoir.

Editorial
Clean white page, bold sans headers, colored chip labels
A modern-nonfiction magazine layout with generous white space. Suits popular science and contemporary-feeling works aimed at general or younger audiences.

Report
Full-bleed photography, dark caption band, numbered TOC
The corporate-report / travel-magazine look — a bold photo at the top of every chapter, a numbered circular-badge table of contents, and bold stat blocks. Suits current-affairs nonfiction, general-reader science, and business classics.
