The catalog behind this menu

This shelf is being built from a 2,000-title candidate list — 1,000 Indian-heritage works and 1,000 international works — screened one by one for public-domain status before anything is compiled. Nothing skips that screening.

India list

382 of 1,000 clear every non-US jurisdiction by publication-term math and are queued for full rights research next; the remaining 618 need more source data before they can even be screened.

International list

The top 100 by opportunity score have now been individually screened (author, death year, first publication, translation): 87 clear every jurisdiction by term math, 4 need an older public-domain translation, 4 are not yet public domain everywhere, 2 were duplicates and 2 await title identification. The remaining 900 are still at the research stage.

Compiled so far

Five titles have completed full rights research and production: On the Origin of Species (398 pages), The Descent of Man (708 pages, 1874 text),The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals (318 pages, 1872 text with all 303 of Darwin's footnotes), The Voyage of the Beagle (551 pages, 1845 text) and The Variation of Animals and Plants under Domestication (1,004 pages, both volumes, 1875 text), the last four in the Report theme. Titles are compiled one at a time, in screened order; next in line is The Formation of Vegetable Mould through the Action of Worms.

How a title is priced

Every compiled edition is priced at 1 BZeUSD per 100 pages, or part of 100. Example: the finished On the Origin of Species edition runs 398 pages → 4 BZeUSD;The Descent of Man runs 708 pages → 8 BZeUSD; The Expression of the Emotions runs 318 pages → 4 BZeUSD; The Voyage of the Beagle runs 551 pages → 6 BZeUSD; The Variation of Animals and Plants under Domestication runs 1,004 pages → 11 BZeUSD.
